A sophisticated question
The questions from blog readers are increasing in both number and sophistication. For this, Betsy and I are most pleased.
I have just received a message from a lymphoma patient who is presently receiving chemotherapy for his disease. He enquires whether it is reasonable to shorten the chemotherapy and move to radioimmunotherapy (RIT).
In my opinion as a patient this is most reasonable. For, in the experimental clinical trial in which i participated, i received 3 cyles of CHOP plus rituxan followed by zevalin RIT. the short-term chemotherapy did not make me feel ill with the frequent adverse effects of this treatment. the zevalin caused me no ill-effects at all.
now, 4 years after zevalin, my pet scan is normal.
a superb question--thank you.
